For Adam's 2nd birthday, we did a pumpkin
theme, since we don't do much for "Halloween". The weather was perfect,
about 80 degrees at 5:00pm. For the decor outside, there were 4 bails of hay and 12 small
pumkins scattered about. The hay was for sitting and playing on, and the kids painted a
pumpkin to take home with them. We were so happy that we rented a small table and chairs
for the kids; they didn't have to sit on the floor or fight for space at our plastic
kiddie table.

Deanne is trying to make sure that Ellie (her daughter) and Matthew don't draw on
themselves, since the markers are Sharpies. Matthew still drew on his arm.

The kids had no problem keeping busy playing with cars above and climbing on the play
structure below. In total we had about 15 kids. We are just thankful that the weather was
so nice to have everyone outside (not to hot and not raining).

The cake of course is always a big hit for kids, and adults too. Adam seem to know
right away what was going on since he has been to 3 birthday parties in the last couple
weeks.

Below he knows exactly how to blow out the candles, and even stood on his chair in
order to reach. Things were great until...

...mom took the
cake back in the house to cut it and dish out the ice cream. He screamed pretty long and
loud. Then again, when he is upset he lets you know about it. And he always seems to know
what he wants.

OK, as you can
see here, he recovered just fine. Not sure what he liked better though, the cake or the
ice cream. But who cares at a party, right?

This below is so cute,
friends of ours came up with this poem for Adam's birthday invitation (Thanks Nancy and
Al). Five little pumpkins sitting in a
row
The first one said, "Its Adams Birthday, you know"
The second one said, "He is turning two years old."
The third one said, "His house is where to go."
The fourth one said, "October 11th is the day."
The fifth one said, "5 p.m. is when to come and play."
Then the five little pumpkins said, "We hope we see you there,
so call us to say if in our fun time you will share."

Not sure
what Joseph is thinking, but he wanted everyone to see his pumpkin.
