Young's Grove Revel - October 9th, 2004 All good people of the realm of Young's Grove, courtesy of our hosts Lord Lyngus and Lady Tunica, were invited to join in the revelry, diversions and fine feasting to be had on this day. King Henry LXIX and her highness Queen Regina Kegel welcomed their loyal subjects venturing from near and far for a fine day of sport and diverse entertainments. Many clanspeople have been busily making the grove a wondrous sight to behold. Their hard work and labor and dedication can be seen in the attention to detail and fine craftmanship of the buildings. The feasting was continuous as was the flow of libations and distillments. Costumed ladies and gentlemen of the realm did attire themselves in their finest regalia and accoutrements according to their noble stature and title. Subsequent to the welcome by the royal family, guests were invited to partake in the sport of archery as well as axe throwing and lastly the caber toss. Then the Royal family was whisked by carriage to the jousting field. From the royal gallery box the nobles and gentry did see many fine bicycle jousters and the fun sport of goat jousting. After jousting, the fencing area was set up to accommodate the many talented and brave fencers desiring to show their prowess and skill with the blade and thereby win the prize. The fencing tournament was won by Miguel, and then a tournament of roses was begun. Many a pretty lady walked away with a beautiful rose that afternoon. All during the day there was entertainment from musicians, drummers, dancers, jesters, with a puppet show and merry go round for the children. Various unsavory characters and an annoying jester were put into the stocks and tormented for a short while. Enjoy the many pages of photographs taken remembering the great fun and comeraderie that was partaken of at Young's Grove. Huzzah!
