  We now have two classes ongoing for historical fencing. The two classes are completely separate from each other and are on a different teaching regimen. Class location for Wednesday evening is at the Canyon View Community Center in Auburn at 471 Maidu Drive. Class location for the Monday evening class is at the ARD Gym on Richardson Drive in the Lakeside room.  Please keep in touch with Maestro Chris. The directions and a map to the Wednesday evening class are on the Contact Us page.
Enrollment
  Due to the popularity of this class, enrollment for beginners will be restricted to every three months for better continuity and ease of instruction.
Registration instructions can be found here.  Please contact Chris Atkinson or Katie Atkinson by email or contact Auburn Recreation District. 1-530-885-8461, if you are interested in joining the class.
       ARD has started a new policy regarding monthly dues for class. If dues are not paid prior to the first week of the month, there will be a $5.00 late charge. Katie does not take payments anymore. Payments will be made in one of the following ways;
directly in person to the office, or it can be mailed in to the office before the first class of the month, or online at the ARD website. More instructions will follow.

    The Diamond Rose put on a swordfighting performance for the opening of the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. It was on  Friday night, December 9th at 6pm until 9:30pm. It was at the Signature 10 Theater on Nevada St. in Auburn. There was fun participation from the crowds waiting in line to see the movie. There are photos from this event, here.
     Members of the Diamond Rose who might be interested in becoming a part of the
King's Guard can ask Chris or Matthew for more information or email Katie also.  If you are interested in becoming a Guild Member please contact Debbie.
    Our school is occasionally asked to give presentations on Renaissance history and fencing to various groups or schools. Our latest presentation was on May 6th at E.V.Cain Middle School's Renaissance Faire for hundreds of visitors. We taught beginning fencing to the eager students who came to visit our encampment.  If you are interested in helping out at these events please let Chris or Katie know. We could always use the help and its fun to educate the public.
