Using a finished coif, lay it on top of a T-shirt that has been turned wrong side
out. With a white tracing pencil or chalk, trace around the coif one inch away from the edge of the coif itself, as this will give you extra material for sewing around the edge of your coif. |
Cut out your traced pattern. Sew together the two pieces of side A. Then sew together the two pieces of side B. |
The finished edges of side A will look like the right side of this sewn coif.
Now roll or fold over the single layer edge of side C outwards and sew all around
this bottom edge of your coif. |
Repeat this with the edge of side D which will be the front face part of your coif.
The finished edge of front face, side D will look like the left side of this finished coif. |
You can adjust the size of the front face part of your coif. Before you turn the coif right side out, try it on and make note of where it is too big for you. Sew it in the places needed and try it on again. Adjust where you need to. |
Turn your sewn coif right side out. Sew your favorite trim around the bottom of edge of the coif. Don't expect it to be perfectly in line because the bottom edge of the coif will most likely be irregular. |
There you have it, a finished coif. |
