E.V.Cain Middle School Presentation

Every year the E.V.Cain Middle School puts on a renaissance faire for the benefit of the school and the students. Students from other schools are bussed in and it is a great opportunity for the students to learn about the life and times of the renaissance.      Many renaissance organizations were present at this faire and the Diamond Rose was one of them. The students came to the encampment in small groups ready to learn all about swordfighting. Katie and Debbie and Matthew and Andrew taught these groups of students for small amounts of time.     The students had fun learning how to hold an epee or other practice sword, and also learning the en garde stance, how to extend their swords, how to advance, retreat and also how to lunge.     Diamond Rose fencers had a wondrous good time performing melee scenarios and duels as the students watched.      In addition to swordfighting questions, the students were eager to ask questions about the renaissance and about fencing classes.
